Why would an Independent School creditor choose a debt collection agency (“DCA”) over a Solicitor?

A DCA cannot commence court proceedings to sue your debtor as it's a "reserved activity" as defined in the Solicitors Act 1974, though of course Solicitors, who are professionally trained can do so.
